This threaded knob is a direct replacement for OEM part numbers 55494020 and 554977. It fits many different years and models of MasterCraft boats, including the X-1, X-2, X-7, X-9, X-10, X-30, X-45, and X-Star. Typically, this knob is located near the base of the rear tower leg, behind the driver’s seat. Its function varies depending on the year and model of the boat. For 2005–2006 MasterCraft X-Star models, the tower features two black knobs at the base of the rear billet tower leg—this knob replaces the one on the left-hand side when facing the tower from inside the boat, and it must be completely removed to fold the tower down. On all other 2005–2006 X-Series models, this knob is used at the rear pivot point and is the only knob in that location; it should be slightly loosened (not removed) to allow the rear hoop of the tower to hinge down. For 2007–2011 X-Series and X-Star towers, the knob is again located at the base of the rear billet leg and replaces the left-hand knob, which must be fully removed to fold the tower.
